The search is on for Kenya’s most successful and industrious young businessmen and women following the launch of nominations for this year’s Bizna Young Entrepreneurs Awards (YEA) 2019.
This is the second edition of the Awards, which have been designed to identify upcoming and industrious entrepreneurs between 18 and 35 years old with excellent business acumen.

Pick the award cluster of choice:
Applicants in this cluster will apply to be nominated in any of the 25 sector categories they are most suited for. The sector cluster awards are national. Applicants will compete with other applicants from nationally in the category they apply for. There will be only one winner in every category.
Applicants can apply for one or more categories and in other clusters.
The county cluster presents 94 awards; 2 in every county. There will be the Young Entrepreneur Award (Female and Male) in every county. Applicants will compete against other applicants from the same county to win the award. Male entrepreneurs will compete against other male entrepreneurs in their county, and the same applies to females.
There will be one winner in every category and two winners in every county.
Applicants can only apply once in the county but are free to apply for nomination in other clusters.
Bizna YEA 2019 Partner Cluster
Bizna YEA 2019 has three nomination partners:
Jumia, Kenya’s no. 1 online retailer was established in May 2013 with the aim and vision to become the one-stop-shop for retail in Kenya with the implementation of best practices both online and offline. Jumia is the largest online retail store in Kenya. Jumia has over 100,000 vendors on its platform.
Jumia vendors will compete to win awards in any of the 3 Jumia Vendor Awards in YEA 2019:
- Jumia 5 star vendor of the Year
- Jumia Female Vendor of the Year
- Jumia Male Vendor of the Year
Applicants will compete with other applicants in the category of choice
Applicants are free to apply in more that one category with the Jumia cluster and other clusters as well.
There will be only one winner per category.
AGPO is a Government of Kenya program that facilitates the youth, women and persons with disabilities owned enterprises to access and participate in government procurement.
AGPO registered enterprises will compete to win awards in any of the 3 AGPO award categories:
- AGPO Persons with Disability of the Year Award
- AGPO Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award
- AGPO Male Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Youth Enterprise Development Fund (Youth Fund)
Youth Enterprise Development Fund (Youth Fund) is a state corporation mandated to support financial and business development services to youth-owned enterprises
Youth Fund registered enterprises will compete to win awards in any of the 3 Youth Fund award categories:
- Youth Fund group of the Year Award
- Youth Fund Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award
- Youth Fund Male Entrepreneur of the Year Award
