Isaac Omurwa, the younger brother of Africa 100 champion Ferdinand Omanyala, is gearing up for the East Africa under-18 and under-20 athletics championships to be held in Dar es Salam, Tanzania.
Omurwa will compete in the 100m and is confident of a win against a competitive field.
“I am just going for a win…at the moment, I am not focusing on the time I will post. I started training in January and I’m happy with the results,” Omurwa said.
At the second Athletics Kenya meet held over the weekend at the Nyayo National Stadium, the 18-year-old obliterated a strong field to win the under-20 men’s 100m final in 10.85.
Despite being his first competitive race, Omurwa was pleased with his win and hopes to invest more time on the track.
