Men’s mental health: Men do face challenges in life but they tend to hold them in.

Maybe it is because of the fear that they will be judged by society; they will be viewed as weak or that they will lose their value as men.

Some of the challenges faced by men include:

  • Financial issues.
  • Marital issues
  • Relationship/social issues
  • Work-Related issues
  • Physical health issues
  • Social expectations from men

This leads to some effects and changes in behavior. They tend to find consolation for their sorrows, fear and issues in beer bottles, substance use in excessive quantities, domestic violence, fight involvements, suicidal ideations and suicidal attempts.

Instead, we should try to incorporate our men back into society.

How?

As a man, if you are facing issues, accept first that it is okay not to be okay and that it is normal to have challenges in life or feel emotionally vulnerable and in need of some help in life.

It is time to do away with the toxic masculinity title where men pretend in order to maintain their frame.

Different ways of helping men deal with their mental health issues have been accessed and proven to be helpful. For instance, engaging in positive activities that boost their mental health.

Therapy from a certified counselor also comes in handy to help out our men.

Talking to other men when facing challenges, creating time for yourself to unwind, knowing what you’re feeling and assessing are ways of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in regard to mental health.

As a society, there is a need to stop the stigma and pressure put on men out there. They are human. Happy men’s day to all the men out there and for sure you deserve peace and mental stability.
